Louie was the victim of an attempted robbery this week in Kinnegad. There was a cable tie on the gate; chalk markings in the ground; and he was barking loudly in the night. He was given drugs the first night, and they tried to take him the second night. The thieves were disturbed and ran away.
He presented to us very ill; vomiting and passing blood; and very drowsy. His bloods showed some liver damage.
We looked after him, and got him better, and sent him home after a lot of worry. His family were literally shell shocked. So were we. We heard that it’s happening; but it was deeply upsetting to see this beautiful dog so ill.
His repeat blood samples today showed that his liver has recovered.
Please make sure your dogs are microchipped, and secured at home, and consider installing CCTV to protect your pets.
